If you walk in the park, you are a pedophile

This is not a joke.

If an adult (most probably male) is walking in the park in Telford Town, and has not got a child with them, they can be and are more likely to be stopped and questioned by members of the local council. If the council official is suspicious they can have the people "escorted" out of the park and banned from entering in the future.

A bit extreme don't you think? They don't think so. In fact despite being told even by the Home Office that they are over stepping the mark, the council remain adamant that they are doing right in order to protect children.

A prime example is when two environmental campaigners were in the park dressed as penguins. They were distributing leaflets on climate change when they were challenged by council officials who claimed they (the environmental campaigners) had not completed a risk assessment or a criminal records check, a process that is used to stop pedophiles from working with or being close to children.
So the enviromental campaigners were "escorted out."

When the campaigners complained to the council, a response by letter said:

"Our town park staff approach adults that are not associated with any children in the town park and request that the request the reason for them being there. This is a child safety precautionary measure.

After the Home office warned the council that they were perhaps over stepping the mark, a spokesman said:
"We do reserve the right to ask people what they are doing in the park. Otherwise it is a free-for-all where they can come and do what they want. "

Is it just me or is this country becoming more and more Orwellian? This is just yet another case in a long line of preposterous examples of how the government and local government are severely over stepping the mark in a crazed bid to secure the safety of themselves and the people around them. It comes across as if the world is going to end tomorrow, and if the government doesn't wrap us all up in cotton and put safety warnings on everything, then we are going to do ourselves harm. Its almost as if we are children and we can't do anything without them looking over our shoulders to make sure we are alright. It also shows that they obviously don't trust us with anything anymore.

Whilst reading the newspaper not to long ago, I noticed a letter by someone who said they had recently been to Eastern Europe. In this letter the person stated that in the older parts of the cities, the streets were still paved with cobbled stones and as a result the road was uneven.
And yet there were no signs warning people of this to cover the backsides of the government in case someone tripped over and hurt themselves. Do you know why? Because its common sense.
Common sense dictates thats you keep your eyes and ears open at all times and if you have disabilities then you have someone do it for you. You stay aware of your surroundings and if something happens like you trip then its most likely your fault not the local councils.

This country we live in is being driven to the brink by health and safety madness and political correctness idiots.

We need to change or else this country will implode. Short of that all the British people will just pick up their belongings and leave. Lord knows quite a few people are doing that already.

I hope people keep their senses.

Thats all from me, until next time, adious folks
